In a decision handed down today, the Court of Appeal (Sir Geoffrey Vos MR, Warby and King LJJ) has allowed the appeal against a decision of Williams J to anonymise the names of judges involved in historic proceedings relating to Sara Sharif. The case raised significant issues of transparency, open justice, and the extent to which a judge’s Article 8 rights may be engaged.

William Tyzack, assisted by Sophie Cullis, appeared as the Advocate to the Court, appointed by the Attorney General.
