With our expertise in complex financial cases and child welfare cases, QEB barristers are well-placed to represent incapacitated parties, family members or deputies in the Court of Protection in cases involving property and financial affairs, and health and welfare decisions.

We have experience in acting in cases involving complex health and welfare decisions, and property and financial affairs issues, including being instructed by the Official Solicitor on behalf of P.

We have been instructed in complex financial cases involving breaches by donees and deputies of their fiduciary duties, challenges to the validity of lasting powers of attorney and decisions in relation to the use of P’s assets. In respect of health and welfare, we have experience of cases involving care, residence and contact issues, challenges to Deprivations of Liberty, decisions in respect of serious medical treatment, and the removal of P from the jurisdiction.
