Also acted for Eve Magiera in the proceedings in the High Court. The central question was whether under European law, England could try the case or whether it should be heard in Poland where there was a case pending. The parties had been engaged in litigation for some 15 years, also in France.

This is an important case especially considering Brexit – it was one of the last cases that the English courts tried on European jurisdiction under the current law.
