Sophia Russell

Sophia commenced her Pupillage in September 2026. Sophia is currently in her first seat of pupillage under the supervision of Rosemary Budden.

Prior to joining QEB, Sophia graduated with a First-Class law degree from Durham University, where she ranked first in her year. She then completed the BCL at the University of Oxford and the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, achieving a Distinction in both.

Alongside these studies, Sophia has spent the past five years volunteering at a range of family law clinics where she has assisted parents in complex child proceedings.

Sophia also enjoys advocacy, having won numerous competitions, including a moot in the UK Supreme Court where she was awarded the title of ‘Best Advocate’ by Lord Briggs.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys all forms of theatre, travel, cooking, and good food!
