QEB welcomes its 2026 pupils: Beltrán Field and Sophia Russell

QEB is delighted to welcome this year’s pupils, Beltrán Field and Sophia Russell, to chambers.

Beltrán Field holds a First-Class MA in History and Politics from the University of Edinburgh and completed the Graduate Diploma in Law at The City Law School with Distinction. Prior to joining QEB, Beltrán worked as a paralegal in a leading High Net Worth family law team, assisting with complex financial remedies and children cases, often with an international element. He has also volunteered with the Free Representation Unit and served as a Student Legal Advisor with the City Community Legal Advice Centre.

Sophia Russell graduated with a First-Class law degree from Durham University, where she ranked first in her year, before completing the BCL at the University of Oxford and the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, achieving Distinction in both. Alongside her studies, Sophia volunteered for a number of family law clinics, supporting parents involved in complex children proceedings. She has also enjoyed considerable success in advocacy competitions, including winning a moot in the UK Supreme Court, where she was awarded the title of ‘Best Advocate’ by Lord Briggs.

We wish them both every success throughout their careers at the Bar.
