Experienced and creative financial remedy specialist, ranked by the directories as a leading junior in her field for over a decade. Samantha regards contested litigation a last resort in family cases and most of her cases are resolved by compromise.

Samantha undertakes complex and high value matrimonial finance cases. She often appears against KCs. Samantha brings creativity and empathy to her practice. The majority of Samantha’s work involves representation and resolution of matrimonial finance disputes in the context of voluntary (non-court) processes (largely “private” FDRs and arbitrations).

Samantha works principally with a small pool of highly reputed solicitors with whom she enjoys established and effective professional relationships. These working relationships are built on commitment to key shared values: cost-effectiveness, pragmatism and focus on client welfare. In short, Samantha is not at heart “a fighter” but a strategist and realist who prefers to save her clients the emotional and financial expense of hard-fought litigation where this is possible. When this is not possible, she pairs bold advocacy with firm, clear-eyed advice on potential outcomes and the inherent risks of litigation in a discretionary field.

Samantha is the recipient of many generous credits as to her professional abilities in the legal directories. Rather than repeat again her solicitor-clients’ plaudits here, Samantha prefers to let her lay clients assess her for themselves. Clients must select counsel they feel can best meet their objectives and with whom they can build a healthy working rapport. In Samantha’s case, her focus is almost always on consensual resolution of cases and avoiding the risks of contested hearings where possible.

“Completely on top of the detail and up-to-date on recent case law, she offers clients sound, clear and empathetic advice on tricky points, and can hold her own against QCs on the other side." "A meticulous advocate who has the ear of the judge. She makes clients feel they are at the centre of everything she does and that they are listened to." "She is hugely persuasive and instils confidence in judges.”
