Prior to joining QEB, Austin was a paralegal at a leading solicitors’ firm in London where he assisted in a range of financial remedies and private children cases.
During the 2023/2024 legal year, Austin worked at the Court of Appeal of England and Wales as the judicial assistant to Lady Justice King and Lord Justice Moylan. In his time at the Court of Appeal, he gained experience across all areas of family law, including in financial remedies, international child abduction, and public and private children law. His work involved reviewing permission to appeal applications, undertaking legal research, and writing bench memorandums on cases such as such as Xanthopoulos v Rakshina [2024] EWCA Civ 84 and Standish v Standish [2024] EWCA Civ 567.
Austin was also previously a research assistant at the Law Commission of England and Wales, working in the Property, Family and Trusts team.
