Having retired as a High Court Judge, Family Division, Sir David continues to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge and, out of court, regularly conducts private FDRs.

Overview

Sir David was a High Court Judge of the Family Division for 19 years until his retirement in 2017, since when he has remained a Deputy High Court Judge.

On the Bench he handled numerous high value Financial Dispute Resolution hearings and high-profile contested Financial Remedy cases. He gave several ‘money’ judgements when sitting as a Judge of the Court of Appeal, which he did on many occasions.

As Director of Family Law Training at the Judicial College, he was instrumental in setting up training in Financial Remedy work for Judges and District Judges.

He has conducted numerous private FDRs since January 2018.
