Practice profile
Duncan's practice comprises all aspects of family law, with a particular emphasis
on financial provision following separation and private law children work.
He is predominantly based in the Principal Registry of the Family Division. He regularly represents high-net-worth individuals, and is used to dealing with complexities arising from trusts, business accounts, taxation and international disputes. He is experienced at acting for and against those who work in the media, entertainment, legal and financial professions. Duncan is regularly led by and appears against QC's. Duncan also undertakes work in family-related common law cases, in particular disputes between former cohabitants and professional negligence claims arising from family law cases. Duncan is one of a very few collaboratively trained barristers, having completed his training in January 2009.

Duncan read law at St Aidan's College, Durham University. Thereafter, he attended
the Inns of Court School of Law. He received the Lord Justice Holker Award
from Gray's Inn in 1999.
Personal
Duncan is married with one daughter. He enjoys singing, playing cricket and tennis. He is also a member
of the Gray's Inn Barristers' Committee.
